  • A vintage John Widdicomb Chinoiserie Secretary Desk. Circa 1970.

This is a beautifully hand painted, bas relief chinoiserie secretary desk in a warm, goldenrod color with subtle color variations and gold detailing throughout.

The hand painted and bas relief (raised, multi-dimensional) details feature classical chinoiserie motifs such as individuals in nature along with birds, ducks, etc.

This chinoiserie secretary desk has numerous drawers and compartments for organization. There is even a secret compartment!

The top half of the desk is locking with key included. The key for the bottom half is unlocked and the key is no longer present. When opening the cabinet doors, you must open the right hand door first (after unlocking), and then lift the lever on the bottom corner of the left hand side door to open the door completely. Lever mechanism is pictured.
